I was born and raised in San Francisco, as a member of a large, fun, and interesting family which encouraged creativity and intellectual curiosity, emphasized community, and thought little of conformity.

I've liked to draw as long as I can remember, and became interested in birds and the natural world as a young kid. Living in the city most of my life, I always had a longing to live in the country, and now I do. I still love to draw, and for me to be outside with my sketch book and watercolor set is heaven on earth.

I work in mixed media, watercolor, pastel, and make image transfers from my own photographs. Every day I sketch something-anything! My art is about Place: the landscape, the objects we see in our everyday lives, the places I've been. I'm always looking for the quiet, but I like the active as well. When someone looks at a piece of mine and says "I want to go there," I feel that I have done what I set out to do.
